Thrifty Thursday!

Hi Lovelies!  It's been a while since my last outfit post.  I've had so much going on this new year.  I'm at a new place in my life but I won't bore you with the deets right now...saving it for a later post.  So now that that's out of the way; let's get to my outfit that was totally thrifted.  You won't believe how much I spent on it...a whopping $4.50!!!  Yes, I said it, it is true, $4.50.

I almost left this leopard blouse in the store because it was a tad to big but as a self-proclaimed shopaholic...I just couldn't.  Leopard print is such a big staple for women now.  It's almost as if it's a neutral item that goes with everything.

So what do you think my fellow Fashionistas?  Is Leopard print a must-have for you?  What do you think of my look?

Blouse: Thrifted $1.50 / Skirt: Thrifted $2.00 / Belt: Thrifted $1.00 / Necklace: F21 $8.00 / Watch: Gucci / Bracelets: Random / Shoeties: DSW / Sunnies: Jimmy Choo

Monochromatic

This is my first attempt at the Monochromatic color trend.  I didn't choose this color scheme, it sort of chose me.  I was standing in my closet daydreaming and thinking to myself "I have absolutely nothing to wear"; I know I'm not the only woman who has repeated that bogus and oh so false statement.  I was thinking about how Fall is really starting to settle in and all of the pretty leaves that are falling from the trees.

I've worn this skirt before with a cream blazer and camisole but I was compelled to reinvent it somehow.  Psst, I'll let you in on a little secret, the skirt is actually longer; I rolled the waist so that it would appear shorter.
So this time around I paired it with pieces from the same color scheme; which is a classic color.  The monochromatic look is actually easier to pull off than I originally thought.  Hence, I will be trying this look again in the near future.

Would you or have you tried this look?  What color schemes work best for you?  Which color scheme are you willing to try?

Who Wears Bow Ties?

I adore the whole men's wear look on women and bow ties are one of my favorite items to wear.  So I went on the hunt to find some bow ties that would fancy me.  I'm wearing a straight edge bow tie.  I really like its versatility; you can wear this one with almost any color shirt (e.g., light blue, dark blue, yellow) and of course classic white, just to name a few.

I'm on the search for some new more unique bow ties and I came across this tie bar  and they have some pretty prim bow ties.  I'm going to order a self-tie bow tie because I want to learn how to tie one.  A couple of reasons brought me to this conclusion; one is, I really love the look of an untied bow tie on a shirt; it screams SEXY to me!  The other reason is...shoot, I'm prepping for a husband and I need to know these kinds of things.

The tie knot has a few tutorials on how to tie a variety of knots for ties such as the Prince Albert knot as well as the Double Windsor knot.  The bow tie tutorial accurate and easy to follow.  You can bet your bottom dollar that I have downloaded all of these tutorials.  I have learned so much about bow ties; like they have diamond point and butterfly styles.

Bejeweled Booties

Booties are my favorite boots to wear.  It's because I have skinny legs.  You have my daddy to thank for that [thanks a lot dad!]  My mommy has nice, thick and pretty legs.  Well, enough about that.  These bejeweled booties are one of my favorite pairs I own.  They are so versatile and I wear them with almost anything.  In my opinion, they make my legs appear bigger.

I was in search of a pair of shoes for an event I was attending.  I usually mentally shop then head out to execute.  Needless to say, these booties weren't on my mind but once I saw them; everything I had mentally prepared went swoosh...right out of the window.  I immediately started to rearange my planned outfit.

I really like the bejeweled aglets and grommets.  These are what captured the seence of my eye balls.  Not to mention, the leather capped toe and heel.  They're just an all around great bootie.  Today I paired them with a full skirt and a ruffle front shirt.

In the past, I have worn them with denim cut-offs and a tank, leggings with a blazer, and jeans with a button up.

Would you wear booties?  How would you wear them?
